Gonna have to be honest, I can't see this as a Metal Slug "tribute" or "homage" any more than The Great Giana Sisters is an "homage" to Super Mario Bros. Like the enemy characters are literally just the enemies from Metal Slug recolored. That's not inspiration, that's just theft, and there's not really a softer way to put it. Nothing wrong with taking inspiration from a game you like, but there is much wrong when your whole game's identity is nothing more than "it's like Metal Slug" as it just comes off looking like a bootleg product.

I can understand and respect your point of view, and you're not the only one feeling this way about this game. However, while the visuals/sountrack are extremely similar, there has been conscious effort in the design process to make the gameplay, tone and rhythm different from an MS game (ally system, no weapons/grenades, precision more rewarding than rushing through, etc.).
I can only wish you and other people seeing this game as a rip-off can come around at a later date when more content is gonna be available 👍

Pretty good stuff. Loved the characters, and despite the limited animation, framing + voice work kept me hooked. Looking forward to the next one.

Pretty interesting stuff. Really found the various aspects and quirks of the world interesting. Would appreciate a slight bit more exposition on how various things work, but aside from that, not bad at all.

The joke was decent, but like BK42 said, perhaps you could find some voice actors on the forums. Robotic voices may turn some people off.
